Launch description
A SpaceX Starship rocket launched the Starship Orbital Flight 1 (Starship Flight 14) mission on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 12:48 PM (UTC).
Missions
Starship Orbital Flight 1 (Starship Flight 14):
Ship 41 underwent two cryogenic proof tests on June 30, 2026. Booster 21 also underwent its own cryogenic proof tests from July 18-20, 2026. The engines' static firing test campaign started on August 19, 2026. It was completed with a full duration static fire of all 33 engines of Booster 21 on August 28, 2026.
After 13 suborbital test flights, this was the first orbital Starship flight. Ship 41 lost a Raptor Vacuum engine on ascent but still reached a 262 x 275 km, 30.5-degree orbit and deployed all 26 Starlink V3 satellites. The mission was then shortened and Ship 41 deorbited, splashing down on target in the Pacific Ocean.
Starlink-423 (31-1):
The first batch of 26 fully functional V3 Starlink satellites are now integrated into the constellation.
